Product information

Our polycarbonate windows are hand crafted to order by our experienced UK based team. They are designed to be safe, strong and lightweight, making them ideal for motorsport. They are much stronger than glass and shatterproof, unlike Perspex and other acrylics, so you are well protected whilst driving.

Our standard windows are manufactured from 4mm thick polycarbonate to comply with Motorsport UK regulations, whilst we also 5mm FIA compliant and hard-coated options for those looking tougher windows.

All of our windows are available in a choice of clear, bronze or grey polycarbonate so can choose the windows that best suit your car. You also have the option to add window sliders to either one or both of the front door windows depending on your preference.

How long does an order take to ship?

We will confirm receipt of your order straight away and will be in touch if we have any questions regarding your order. Standard polycarbonate orders are usually manufactured and despatched within 1-2 weeks of the order being placed. Specialist orders - for example if you choose hard-coating plastic - will take longer, but we will contact you and discuss this with you. If you need your order by a certain date then please let us know.

Can I fit the window myself?

Yes, it is straight forward to remove an existing window and install a RacePlastics polycarbonate window. There are plenty of guides on YouTube to help you do this.

Can I collect the order myself?

Yes, we usually courier orders out to our customers, but if you contact us, we can arrange for collection from our Leeds factory.

How can I change my order?

If you need to discuss or change your order in any way, please get in touch with the team at the earliest chance. We will always try to accommodate any changes but costs may be incurred if the manufacturing process has already started.

The Ford Cortina MK1 rally car

The Ford Cortina Mk1 rally car is highly regarded among enthusiasts, especially those passionate about rallying and classic cars. Introduced in 1962, the Cortina Mk1 was Ford's answer to the growing demand for a compact yet practical family car. However, it didn't take long for its potential in motorsport, particularly rallying, to be recognised.

With its lightweight construction, responsive handling, and a range of engine options including the renowned Ford Kent engine, the Cortina Mk1 proved to be a capable contender on rally stages. Its rear-wheel-drive layout provided excellent balance and traction, making it well-suited for the varied terrain encountered in rally competitions.

Throughout the 1960s, the Cortina Mk1 began to establish itself as a force to be reckoned with in rallying. Privateer teams and factory-backed efforts alike campaigned the Cortina in various championships, securing victories and podium finishes in events across Europe and beyond.

One of the most iconic variants of the Cortina Mk1 rally car was the Lotus Cortina. Developed in collaboration with Lotus Engineering, this high-performance version featured a tuned engine, upgraded suspension, and distinctive exterior styling, elevating its performance to new heights on the rally stage.

The Cortina Mk1's rallying career was marked by memorable triumphs, intense rivalries, and enduring camaraderie among enthusiasts. Even today, the Cortina Mk1 rally car continues to be celebrated in the enthusiast scene through rallies, exhibitions, and enthusiast gatherings, serving as a reminder of its enduring legacy as an iconic rally machine.
